classroom expectations 2020-21
1. Come prepared to learn & always try your best.
2. Students are expected to work together in a learning environment, treating
each other with respect.
3. Make responsible choices & respect our class time together (use it wisely).
4. Be present during class time. Present means that you are focused on learning and listening. If you need to step
away let me know. Things come up.
5. Ask if you need help. This can be done during a class session or after. I am here to help you do your best.
Grading
Grading is based on class participation, assignments, assessments, and projects. Final grades will be calculated by totaling the number of points received and dividing by the amount of points possible.
Grades will be updated and available on StudentVue.
SPECIAL CODES - The following codes may appear in my gradebook. Below is a key to help you interpret them.
Codes may vary between teacher gradebooks.
I : Assignments that have not been turned in will receive a I (Incomplete). This will convert the overall grade in the
class to an Incomplete until the assignment is turned in by the student. If it is an online assignment, the student
will need to e-mail me that it is turned-in. Incomplete assignments could be missing, absent work or work without a
name on it. (Note: Some students/parents have mistaken the I for 1% in the past.)
NHI: Not Handed In will be used if a student is missing an assignment that has been graded. Students should see me to discuss the missing assignment and whether it can still be completed and graded.
AE: Absent-excused will be used when an assignment was completed during class and cannot
be replicated. If a student is absent and cannot make up the assignment they will not be penalized.
PLEASE NOTE: It is important to attend class in order to participate in activities that support the concepts we are
learning.
